A linked Grade II Listed cottage providing surprisingly spacious accommodation with great character, together with a garage, detached studio and gardens and grounds in excess of one third of an acre

Property Details

DESCRIPTION

A charming period cottage, situated in the heart of the village, which offers deceptively spacious character accommodation comprising a good size sitting room with open fireplace and beamed ceiling, a separate dining room and a large family/ garden room featuring a mature grape vine.  The kitchen has oak units and there is also the benefit of a ground floor utility/boiler room and cloakroom with walk-in shower.  To the first floor there is a dual aspect principal bedroom with fireplace (not in use), two further bedrooms and a good size bathroom.  The property benefits from oil fired central heating with radiators.

The gardens and grounds are in excess of one third of an acre and comprise an attractive small cottage garden, enclosed by picket fencing and featuring a climbing rose on the front elevation. The remaining generous garden area lies to the rear of cottage where there is also a detached triple aspect studio with light and power connected.  There is also an off-road parking area and detached garage (believed to have formerly been a forge).

Agent’s Note:  We understand that the thatch was completely replaced in July 2007 and the chimney re-lined.

LOCATION

The property is situated within a Conservation Area in the village of Fyfield, some four miles to the east of Andover.  There is a garage/shop, a public house and popular restaurant in the nearby village of Weyhill, just two miles distant, as well as country pubs in Appleshaw and Thruxton.  Andover offers a comprehensive range of shopping, educational and leisure facilities, as well as a mainline railway station providing fast services to Waterloo.  The A303 is close at hand allowing convenient road access to London and the West Country.  The cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester are both within about half and hour’s drive, as is Basingstoke.
